In a chilling revelation, leaked video footage from an Abolish Abortion Texas (AATX) meeting attended by Hood County Republican Party officials has laid bare the sinister and draconian agenda of the GOP. At the meeting, they discussed introducing the death penalty for women who seek abortions or undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, a stance that is as alarming as it is insane. The clandestine gathering, which took place in January in the heart of Hood County, Texas, featured AATX director Paul Brown, who meticulously outlined the group’s extreme positions on reproductive rights.

The leaked video, obtained by Hood County Democrats Chair Adrienne Quinn Martin, shows Brown unequivocally stating that “abortion is murder” and that there is “no difference in the value of born people and preborn people.” He went on to claim that emergency contraception like Plan B pills and the destruction of fertilized eggs during IVF are also forms of abortion, a scientifically inaccurate assertion. Brown even suggested that abortion shouldn’t even be allowed in cases of rape or incest, callously remarking that women’s lives “don’t matter any more than the babies they are killing.”

Among the Republican officials present at the meeting were Hood County Constable Scott London, Hood County GOP Chair Steve Biggers, and Hood County GOP chair candidate Greg Harrell. Shockingly, none of these individuals pushed back against Brown’s extreme rhetoric. In fact, when discussing the prosecution of minors who seek abortions, London agreed with Brown’s notion of “equal protection,” stating that minors should face the death penalty as well.

The implications of this leaked footage are both alarming and far-reaching. If Donald Trump and the Republicans gain power in the upcoming November election, it is very likely that they will move to ban abortion and IVF nationwide. This would put countless women and doctors in prison or even on death row for seeking or providing these healthcare services. Furthermore, the anti-choice movement’s agenda won’t stop at abortion; there are also concerns they will also target access to birth control, further restricting women’s reproductive rights.

Perhaps one of the most heart-wrenching aspects of this situation is the potential impact on victims of sexual assault, including children. Under the proposed Republican agenda, child rape victims would be forced to carry their rapist’s child to term, with no exceptions for cases of rape or incest. The psychological and physical trauma inflicted upon these young survivors would be unimaginable. But the AATX and their GOP supporters are more than okay with prioritizing the life of a fetus over the well-being of the mother, even in the most extreme circumstances.

The leaked video also highlights the growing influence of extremist groups like AATX within the Republican Party. The True Texas Project, which hosted the meeting, was labeled an extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and has ties to white nationalist and Taliban supporter Nick Fuentes. Despite this, prominent Texas Republicans like Ted Cruz and Attorney General Ken Paxton have attended events hosted by the organization, which is tantamount to endorsement.

As the nation grapples with the implications of this leaked footage, Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued a stark warning: “Make no mistake: Texas Republicans will strip women of their basic healthcare rights and will not stop at just banning abortion. They will punish women and doctors for seeking and performing basic health care, they will ban IVF, and they will create a hostile and inhumane state.”

The extreme views held by Texas Republicans is a chilling reminder of what is at stake in the upcoming November election. The rights and lives of women hang in the balance. As the nation continues to grapple with the issue of reproductive rights in the post-Roe era, it is more important than ever for voters to be informed about the true agenda and goals of the GOP.

The leaked AATX video has laid bare the deeply disturbing and draconian agenda that Republican officials actively endorse. Their stance goes far beyond simply banning abortion and IVF; they are openly advocating for the state-sanctioned execution of women and medical professionals who seek or provide these essential healthcare services. This position is an affront to the autonomy, dignity, and fundamental rights of women everywhere.

As the November election approaches, it is crucial that voters understand the real-world consequences of electing officials who align themselves with groups like AATX and their radical agendas. The future of reproductive rights, women’s healthcare, and the very lives of countless individuals are at stake. It is time for Americans to stand up against these extreme views and fight for a future where every woman has the right to make decisions about her own body and reproductive health without fear of persecution or punishment.
